Each piece that comes into the workshop is assessed before any work is proposed. The assessment takes into account the condition of the movement, case, dial, and hands, and the owner's stated priorities. A written scope follows. Nothing proceeds until this scope is read and agreed.
All three services share this intake process. Where a piece qualifies for more than one area — for example, a heritage movement that also requires a crystal — this is noted in the scope and each element is costed and described separately. The owner decides which elements to proceed with.
Dial and Hand Refinishing
Careful lifting of hands, dial removal, and assessment of lume, printing, and plating condition. Work covers relume of hands and indices where original material has degraded, gentle surface cleaning, and refitting with correct hand height and clearance.
Aimed at owners who want a piece to read clearly again while retaining as much of its original character as possible. A pre-work photograph set and a written description of what will and will not be altered is provided; original dials are never repainted without written consent.

Crystal Replacement and Bezel Refitting
Removal of a chipped or clouded crystal, selection of a correctly sized replacement in mineral glass or sapphire, gasket renewal, press-fitting to the correct tolerance, and bezel alignment.
Includes a water resistance test to the case rating and inspection of the case tube. Most pieces are completed within five working days. Suitable for daily-wear watches where clarity has been lost to scratching or a knock.
Heritage Movement Rebuild
An extended engagement for pieces of significant age or family value. Covers full teardown, corrosion assessment, sourcing or hand-fabrication of obsolete components, staff and pivot work, jewel replacement where required, refinishing of bridges to their original grain, and reassembly with period-correct lubrication.
Includes a bound condition dossier with macro photography and a written account of every intervention. Timelines are set case by case and typically span 8–16 weeks; parts sourcing is discussed candidly before commitment.

Written scope before work
All services begin with a written scope agreed by the owner. No work proceeds without this agreement in place.
Magnification tooling
All bench work is carried out under appropriate magnification. Movement work uses a stereoscope; dial work uses a loupe with appropriate power.
Period-appropriate lubricants
Lubricants selected for the calibre's age and construction, not simply the nearest available modern option.
Pressure and rate testing
Case work is followed by a water resistance test. Movement work is followed by a timing measurement across multiple positions.
Secure workshop storage
Pieces are stored securely between bench sessions. Collection arrangements are confirmed in advance for extended jobs.
Owner contact if scope changes
Any unexpected finding during a job is communicated to the owner before the relevant work is approached. No mid-job additions appear at collection without prior discussion.
